MWG Honored for its Work by Blinded American Veterans Foundation

Washington, DC — Today, members of the Military Writers Guild accepted the Carlton Sherwood Media Award presented by the Blinded American Veterans Foundation. The Sherwood Award is presented annually to an individual or group who exhibit both journalistic excellence as well as a dedication to the concerns of American veterans.

Upon accepting the award for MWG, member Phil Walter said, “While Military Writer’s Guild members might hail from many countries — and have diverse experiences in both civilian and military careers — all members are bound by our passion of using the written word to describe the best and worst of human endeavours.

“To be publicly recognized by your foundation for our work, and receive an award named in honor of a highly decorated United States Marine, Vietnam Veteran, and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, simply put, takes our breath away.”
