Michael Farwig
Project: Thru: an american odyssey
Michael Farwig is an Afghanistan war veteran, a retired staff sergeant, and a Purple Heart recipient. After being wounded in combat, he pursued writing to explore his experiences at war and the long journey home. He earned his MFA in Creative Writing from Western Michigan University and is currently pursuing a PhD there. His fiction has been published in the Iowa Review, and Military Experience and the Arts, and his non-fiction in Proud To Be: Writing By American Warriors Volume 10. He is querying his debut novel.
Nick Romanow
Project: Looking Through the Davidson Window: examining the role of the information environment in strategy and deterrence
Nicholas (Nick) Romanow is a Cryptologic Warfare Officer in the U.S. Navy and is currently serving aboard the U.S.S. New Orleans, homeported in Sasebo, Japan. He was previously assigned to the National Security Agency’s Cybersecurity Collaboration Center at Fort Meade, Maryland. Prior to joining the Naval Service, Nick graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor's in International Relations and a minor in Mandarin Chinese. He has previously authored articles for publications such as the U.S. Naval Institute Proceedings, War on the Rocks, the Modern War Institute, and the Pacific Forum.
